Before the spectator’s inquisitor look, Meza Rodriguez’s works display, apparently, a lack of beauty. But, his mission, it’s to evidence the unknown side of the world, the animal side of every human being, the most disgusting, yet arousing feelings of our own nature. This artist does not accept any other authority than his own conscience, and in this form, without fear, his works represent human beings submerged into their own cold appearance disregard any form of intelligence.
Meza’s oeuvres are like mirrors looking into his thoughts and intimacy, with his paintings he expresses what most of us think or feel, but don’t accept: that in this world sex is a piece of eternity, that money is only a piece of paper capable of turning men into beasts, that humanity its devouring itself because God created it like that, and that if our deepest fantasies were to be revealed, shame would deprive us from our sleep.
